Can't belive you set this up so quick. I was able to import our OST template in a heartbeat as a great starting spot in prep for a company wide template. Two questions
1) Need the ability to alpha-numeric sort the folders, as they are out of order and I'll be sitting here all day trying to re-arrange them.
2) I was playing in DEV and at one point there was the ability to make the folders align with our WBS/Sort structure. For example you see 0240 demolition below, those takeoff items had the ability to be assigned to 0240 demo, but then I could also group them by uniformat with a click. Is this still a direction we are headed that I believe will really help tie estimating platforms to takeoff?
Update: Fail, I didn't finish reading the release notes, you can do this, sweet!
Hi Kyle!
If you click the "Group By" button and then group by "Folder" this will force sorting by folder alphabetically as well. So even though folder grouping is the default, if you just group by folder as the first group, then it will sort also. Based on your input, we did implement the ability to see the sort sequence with numbers:
So if you go into "Settings" you can add custom properties. For example, if you add a "Division" custom property, you will now be able to set the "Applies To" for "Takeoffs" and this field will show up on all takeoffs. Then it also becomes available to group by.
Also, as you requested in your previous post, we added the "Code + Name" ability so that you can see both the division code and the division name when it groups:
Haha...I just about finished posting my reply before you found the answer. I think it's good to show here also, since this post has a little more detail.
Awesome thanks! On this thread can we get the ability to quickly cross code these custom properties? here is a 49 second viedo of the ask here:
Good feedback Kyle! We'll work on this. I can see how this would definitely save a bunch of time. Now that this major update is out, we should be able to get back to more frequent updates for stuff like this.
