Bug Report – Copy/Paste Between Projects Does Not Retain Scale

Completed

Description:

I’ve been testing workflows for handling new drawing sets, and I’m genuinely impressed with what I tried to do. Here’s what I did:

  1. I duplicated my project when I received a new set of drawings (so I had Project A with old drawings and Project B with new drawings). (SAME PROJECT, different set of drawings)
  2. On my left monitor, I opened Project A (old drawings with takeoff). On my right, Project B (new drawings, blank takeoff).
  3. I selected all takeoff objects from Project A and pasted them into Project B to realign them with the updated drawings.

What Works:

  • Copy/paste between projects does work as long as the scale between the two drawings is identical. (SO COOL on 2 screens)
  • Within the same project, if I upload a new drawing set, the pasted takeoff retains the correct scale. from plan set A and plan Set B

Issue:

When copying from Project A → Project B, the scale does not carry over correctly if the drawing scales differ (e.g., when moving from SD to DD). The pasted objects come in at the wrong size/scale.

Expected Behavior:

Copy/paste between projects should maintain correct scale relationships, or at least detect and adapt to differing scales between source and destination drawings.

Why It Matters:

This workflow would be a huge time saver when rolling forward estimates between design milestones. It’s amazing that it almost works, I’m floored this capability even exists! Honestly we need a workflow to do all drawing sets in one projects is the dream. The crux of this why I tried this......when you search for stuff, it search all my old pdf drawings, if there would be a way to filter out drawings to match milestones we would be winning at life.

Thank You:

Just wanted to say, I’m genuinely impressed this workflow is even possible. Excited to see how far you guys can take it. Cheers to the future.
