Control over input measurements

I accidentally stumbled upon the measurement input tool for segment and dimension last night but couldn't quite master how to control it.

There seemed to be 2 outcomes for me, last night it was mostly a 45 degree angle this morning it seems to be horizontal in the opposite direction.

I do get the dimension I typed w/o having to drag and zoom to get precise measurement (if needed), which is nice when I'm trying to freehand off-the-cuff or on-the-fly

I've been getting the prompt by typing a number greater than zero and the prompt comes up and then I type the dim I'm wanting. I haven't tested beyond feet yet.

Click your starting point

Use number pad to tell it which direction you want the line/dimension to go (works in 45 degree increments)

2=down

1=down/left

4=left

7=up/left

8=up

9=up/right

6=right

3=down right

the distance inuput boxes come up and you can tell it how far to measure or draw the line segment

This works for all tools that I'm aware of.

Arrow & Num Pad keys also work for drawing exact dimensions on Areas & Linears, etc.

You can also select any object on the page and use these arrows or num pad keys to pop up and enter a distance to move it as well.
