A Way to Update Template Takeoffs

I think there should be a way to update template takeoffs with a live takeoff on a current project. I'm not sure if that means a right click menu or an option in the properties of the takeoff, but frequently enough I am finding myself adjusting how I do my work and wish there was an easier way to update a template takeoff than 'add to templates' then find it in the templates and delete the old version of the takeoff template.
