Auto scale both metric and imperial?

I don't mind having a default setting for metric or imperial for a project but I am finding a lot of what I would guess is copy and pasting of details and assemblies from the architects. Which is leading to having to change sometimes multiple times in a takeoff session between metric, back to imperial and back again. Would it be possible for the Auto scaling feature to be able to scale both imperial and metric? This would save having to switch back and forth.
