This may be more background information than necessary, but I wanted to explain the workflow behind the request and the reasoning for why these features would be helpful.
I completely understand that every user's workflow is different. Some users work with plan sets that contain many different scales, so this may not be useful in every situation. However, for residential construction plans where scales are often very consistent, this could provide a significant time savings.
*The entire scaling portion of Steps 7-9 typically takes about a minute because I can apply the common scale to everything and then only modify the handful of sheets that need a different scale.
I generally follow the same sheet preparation process before importing into ZZ because it gives me much more control over sheet naming and organization. It also allows me to easily re-import the same files into another platform later if needed.
Where I found the workflow lacking was during the sheet scaling process.
In PlanSwift, scaling all sheets and correcting exceptions takes roughly a minute. In ZZ, the same process takes approximately five times longer.
I have not been able to effectively use AI scaling because scale callouts are not consistently located in the same area on every sheet. I tested the AI scaling workflow and selected all sheets when prompted, but only about 25% of the sheets were successfully scaled automatically.
That left me manually working through the remaining sheets one at a time and selecting the correct scale from the dropdown menu.
I had a mtg with Andrew and I get what he is try to accomplish. Being able to select multiple plans and apply a scale, not with AI, but say all of them should be 1/4".
