Change row order in grouped reports

Hi Jes! Are you looking for manual sort order that you can enter a number or drag/drop type order? Or, if you have them sorted already in the "Takeoff" tab in the order you want, maybe we can just add a way for it to honor that sort order.

Since there are many ways to group the data, if we allow drag/drop it would have to store a separate sort order for every possible grouping (lots of permutations). May not be feasible with drag/drop due to this.

The easiest is probably to either have us sort automatically in the same order as used in the Takeoff tab, or you could add a Custom Property in settings for something such as "Sort Order" (that applies to All Items), and then add that column to your report and sort by it. As a side note, we will be adding ability to edit Item properties from within reports in the future.

Yeah I already have a workaround where I use a numeric custom property and assign numbers 1 - 20 to them, and then sort the report on that column, and that works.

But with a large number of assemblies (which I haven't even finished building out since I have to factor all of this in with how it will ultimately be laid out on the reports page) that solution could get messy, and will be more time consuming to complete rather than just being able to change the row order. It's probably not a common issue where people need their quantity reports to be sorted in a particular order, just the nature of where I work and the resistance to change when they've been doing things a certain way for years
