Copy takeoff folder

Hi, I am copying and pasting on the same page, and across pages, and I always see the takeoffs and qtys copy over no problem. What steps are you taking exactly that are causing this click by click?

There is a feature in PS, where you can copy a folder or group of items, and it would ask if you would like to copy the quantities, or not copy the quantities. If you choose to not copy the quantities, the items are there, but with zero quantities. If you choose to copy the quantities, then the new folders or items have the same quantity. This is useful if you have Building A and Building B which are identical, and need to break the estimate out by building. In ZZ, you can either duplicate or copy, and copy just copies the items or folders, but not the quantities. If you copy a takeoff from the takeoff screen, then paste, it just puts the copied and pasted quantity into the same item, not a separate item, which is also a feature PS had (copy to same item, or new item).

Hi, you can press Ctrl - V to paste the copied section into the SAME takeoff.

You can press Ctrl - Shift - V to paste the copied section into a NEW takeoff.

Thanks Stephen but I want to copy a full folder of takeoffs and keep the count from inside the takeoff side bar or reports

Yes that works too using Ctrl - Shift - V , just select the folder on the right you want it in, and the page you want it on, before pasting.

The folder I am trying to copy contains the takeoff from several pages so I dont think this will work , I.e if it is a building I would have separate pages for each floor, the roof and exterior elevations.
