Is there a way to have custom properties only appear on takeoff items that they relate to? When we create an item, maybe there can be an option to select which custom properties apply? For example, this one item only needs these 2 properties:
I know there is the hide option, but that does not show up for a user to modify.
Hi, if I understand you correctly (and I might not), a good solution could be to have the Hide checkbox in custom properties by per type. So you could Hide for Takeoffs, but show for Folders, or vice versa. Does that sound like a good solution to you, or would you have another suggestion @Jeffery?
Maybe additional Check box on the custom property page to apply to all selected items, it would default to be a plus sign and remove option like we use for adding measurement types, that custom list can get long, especially for what I am planning and have already done with mine.
Right now when I create a new folder, takeoff, or item all of the custom properties show up if they are being applied to that item. I'm creating a template / database for users, They will see items there that dont particuarly apply to that takeoff or item and will say what I am suppose to select here. On my templates or pre-defined items it will only show the properties that apply to that particular item
