Luke Olson CUSTOM VARIABLES AT TAKEOFF LEVEL
Custom variables work great at the item level, but I’d love the option to set a variable at the takeoff level as an estimator input.
Use case: I have a Count item that needs a unique number entered per takeoff. I want that value to be front and center, entered once, and referenced by items in that takeoff.
This would avoid creating extra custom properties and speed up estimating.
If I'm following Luke correctly, I agree, it would be nice to have custom variables at the take-off level that the Items can pull information from WITHOUT having to use custom variables.
I agree, and I think the team is working on this. This would create on the fly variables like in the Items right? That would be awesome and a bit liberating as far as not having to have soooooo many CP's
