Dark Mode - Make Default for new users

90% of the people I show dark mode, they say "way better"

Can we make this the default when new users enter? Or do we like the fact that people "find it" ?

I guess they could have a prompt come up for new users and ask them if they want to try dark mode?

But as someone who always used PlanSwift prior to zz, and only used Bluebeam occasionally for two or three functions, I don't get the appeal of dark mode honestly.

It makes my takeoff objects and items more difficult to quickly read, plus all the plans I receive are drawn on white pages anyway, so what's the point of having only the side panels dark when 75% of the screen is light? Seems like nonstop eye strain to me. 🤷

I will add that I sit directly beneath fluorescent lights at the office, so that is probably a factor too

About time I get a thumbs down, thank you :)

I agree with "system default" being the default between Light Mode and Dark Mode--but I disagree that forcing Dark Mode might not be the way to go. Dark Mode gets me sleepy. It's definitely ideal for OLED displays (although ideally nobody is using software with such a static UI on an OLED display, ofc). Or maybe the user can be prompted and asked which Mode they want when starting the app.

Thanks for the feedback. I also love dark mode, but currently the plan is to use light mode by default. I have forwarded you request to the dev team. Let me know if you have any other questions.

We could possibly consider a setting that defaults to your Operating System Settings

When a new user first gets a invite they have to sign-in. What if we made a option right there for them. That is my dream world.

Low priority tho in general since I'm happy with my dark mode :).

haha, another option , and i dont know if its possible on web but could have it match the users system settings by default
