I checked out the batch scale tool today and really appreciated the ability to check by folder or drawing sheet.
Inspired! I would love the ability to also have this for a set [revision, addenda, IFC, 90%, etc) and most importantly the date of the drawing having QTO currently being worked on or active sheet/page.
Personally, I'd like this with the click/drag context menu as well as (page naming/renaming) property
Not sure where I'd want to see this. Possibly at bottom with scale of drawing? Ex. "Permit Set - 2025-06-16" or "None" if not accounted for yet...
An extra would be if this was slightly colored or highlighted if no set or date has been accounted for to remind the estimator/QTO engineer they may want to be aware
@Chasstan
Figuring out how to do phased drawings in one project is a critical thing that we have to work thru and think we need to dial it in more like you are hinting at hardcore! Right now I'm using layers for this which is not the best workflow but it works. Check out this post that might inspire some thoughts. LINK.
How are you using layers?
Thanks for the feedback and link @Kyle. I'll check it out this AM. Maybe I misunderstood layers the first round even though I think they're super powerful.
Can I use layers to filter out folders or drawings I do/don't want to see - GAME CHANGER? I've just been using them for markups/annotations/QTO's/comparative overlays/etc so far
My default behavior was to upload my bid sets by folder, then discipline.
This issue I ran into yesterday was that I kept noticing is that when I was doing a search yesterday, the search would pick up on older files first and so immediately that's the file that I start working (or want to work on) and then realize I need to wait for the search to cycle through until it gets to the latest version.
Yeah @Chasstan You dropped the mic. Need ability to filter out old drawings, period, full stop.
Ediphi is dropping phase2 of milestones that directly relates to how they handle phased drawings for one project. Food for thought anyway. LINK
@Kyle
Haha - nice plug.
I am inspired by the concept and will continue to check in on the development over time
@Chasstan
My mind is blown by how crappy our industry handles this, example building connected below....I have to make 8 projects in building connected to bid one complete project, WTF.
Drawing Milestone sets = Quantities & Estimates & Purchasing. How is our industry failing us GC's & Subs with not handling phased drawings/estimates/purchasing. (Thanks for listening to my rant)
Yes! These are the things that I'm happy about because the PM side of me likes to see more work done on the front end but the part I'm not happy about is the part where the document/budget/constructability management falls on estimating and precon never officially knows when to jump in because it's an ongoing pursuit or a one time deal
