We pursue many federal projects that fall under CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) compliance. In these projects, we are prohibited from uploading documents—such as drawings—into platforms like BuildingConnected because they are not FedRAMP-certified. This creates a major headache: we’re forced to use inconsistent, manual workarounds to distribute drawings to subcontractors, often reinventing the wheel on every job.
Autodesk has noted FedRAMP is on their roadmap for BuildingConnected, but realistically, it could be years before certification is in place.
In the meantime, we’ve identified that BOX offers a FedRAMP-certified environment, and BuildingConnected already supports direct integration with Box. This is allowing us to move toward a secure, standardized setup for federal projects.
So here’s the ask:
We’re open to other creative suggestions as well ultimately, we’re trying to find a way to use ZZTakeoff on secure federal jobs without violating compliance requirements. Let me know what’s feasible and what might be on the roadmap.
Hey Kyle!
Thanks for sending this in. Security is extremely important for us. We have looked into FedRAMP compliance, and it is extremely expensive and takes a while to get. I'll pass your request on to the development team so they can review the other possible work-arounds that you mention.
