Joist/Beam Tools

Is there any sort of timeline for a joist and beam tool? I have not been able to figure out a workaround.

I don't need this often, but I did need it today.

Of course, please make it better than PS, 90% of the time it caused my computer to lock up and grind to a halt.

So, I may get laughed at by real framing estimators for this, but for I-joists total lin ft this formula (see below) will get you close and you can make a variable for length of board for flat squared areas. it might help on sloped as well....

Again, I am a dirt guy, and can't frame anything, but try this on I-joist flooring and maybe conventional.. see if it will hold you over until the dev team gets this important feature finished.

Thanks John.. it's what use landscapers use for OC spacing for drip irrigation...I looked at other software for the joist tool and they are pretty rough... I am sure the team here will make an elegant and useful tool for you builders.
