For my use case sometimes I need to takeoff from fewer than a dozen sheets out of around 150. Rather than looking through all of the sheets and noting page numbers to bring in, my current workaround is to split the large PDF into several files using a shell app on my mac, upload them to Grok, generate a page list and sheet names for each sheet I am interested in. Then upload only those sheets to ZZ takeoff. Then number and name the sheets in ZZ takeoff one by one.
This is somewhat error-prone and time consuming.
What seems ideal is if when you drag a PDF on zz takeoff, if the browser side code that generates the thumbnails could also identify the sheet names from the bottom right corners of these pages. Or perhaps just zoom the thumbnails into the bottom right corners so I can see the sheet names in the thumbnails.
But if ZZ takeoff COULD identify the sheet names, then it would be great to enable text filtration by sheet names on that thumbnail selection screen.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Keith, the newest upcoming feature update does this, have you watched our sneak peek video?
I think this is what you are asking for? Let us know
I think the plan versioning will amaze you. It auto-names, auto-numbers and scales and keep track of versioning.
Here is the link
I cannot tell if this is possible from the demo, but I would need the ability to multi select and bookmark sheets from the new Plans tab, or alternatively bulk delete sheets I am not interested in. There is no case where I would ever want to scroll through hundreds of sheets while doing takeoffs. I need to rapidly switch between only a few sheets I am interested in.
Hi Keith, I am sure Heber will chat in regarding this. I was hoping that this feature would answer you question. The neat thing about this feature request forum, is that zz users can in a sense vote in on it by commenting and thumbs up.... Thank you for putting this in the forum, it is a great request! I gave a thumbs up!
@Keith,
When this new update drops, it will automatically number and name all pages for you.
My honest question is: why not just drop the whole plan set in? If you later realize you need more sheets, they’re already there. I get that it takes a little longer up front.
One thing I’ve thrown out a few times before: we really need a button that says “show pages with takeoff only.” Hide all the other friggen pages. That might help your cause??
Also what are you having Grok look for??
