I am a huge fan of "live" link Excel integration where I can designate a cell in Excel and then takeoff linear, segment, area, count and have that value show up in the designated cell, just like Planswift does. Then later when a plan revision comes along I can overlay the new plans and adjust my takeoff points and the live link will change the values in Excel. It gives me tremendous confidence in my work.
Thanks for the feedback Mark! I'm curious from your opinion (and also others in the community): if users are still using Excel Desktop, or are users starting to switch online such as Google Sheets or Excel Online?
I have switched over to Google Sheets now, primarily for the cloud/collaboration factor.
However there are still some actions I prefer Excel (Desktop) for that it does better or more quickly than Google Sheets (like the text to columns feature, inserting rows, etc) so I still find myself using it from time to time
I agree. I export it to Excel and then move it to my pre-made template. Integration would save a lot of time.
I am using Excel 365 32 bit because that is what PS requires. I would like to stick with Excel because of my familiarity with it, but it doesn't matter if it is the web based or desktop version as far as I can tell.
