Hi Team,
I’d like to suggest a new Linear type:
“Linear with Multiple Widths & Depths”
This would allow a single linear measurement to include multiple footing sections (e.g. heel width & depth and toe width & depth), each with its own dimensions, with the system calculating the total volume automatically.
Currently, this can be achieved by creating formulas within child items. However, this often results in long and unnecessary formulas, making the estimate harder to manage, review, and audit.
While creating formulas for concrete volume is straightforward (e.g. [Volume:m³] + ([Linear:m] * [Heel Width] * [Heel Depth]) + [Short Boom Setup 1m³] ), as these formulas grow larger and more detailed, they become harder to manage and can lead to confusion within the estimate.
This feature would simplify takeoffs and better reflect real retaining wall footing profiles with toe and heel sections (see attached).
