Hi I'm new to ZZ Takeoff coming from Planswift. I was told I should list a couple of these here.
When setting up a job, there is no way to enter the tax or markup in the job properties. In Planswift I awas able to do this and have it drive to all items.
I sort my takeoff by folders. In Planswift there was a way when adding an item to the takeoff to select or create the folder you wanted that item to be placed in.
In the viewer feature I would like to add Foreman etc. from jobs to be able to view the plans and a limited takeoff, but there does not seem to be away to restrict access to costs.
Thanks
Mark
Yep, room for improvements. Some custom fields for user data would be beneficial. Ditto to the view mode also!
@Mark, thanks for the feature requests! I'll make note of those and let the team know.
Regarding tax or markup at the project/job level, that is possible right now with custom properties and our inheritance system/formula engine. Todd made a video that explains the inheritance system. You can watch the full video, but I linked the spot where he is talking about project-level properties.
Lorin,
I've added them to the project like that. However ZZ has a reserved Markup % that you cannot add to the properties. If this could be added to the job properties it would reduce having to for each item add Markup, then add a formula to Markup % to have it use that Markup. One of the problems with this iis it seems that even though I have made items that have this built in along with the tax and inherited fields revert back to default of text when building new assemblies or if using a dropdown menue to change the item.
Gotcha. I'll mention these to the team.
Regarding the dropdown menu to change the item, I assume you're talking about choosing a product. If so, the product has a Markup %, so whatever value you put for the product, will override the Markup % of your item. We've had a few users want to customize the fields that are overwritten from the product to the item, so the team is looking into that.
Loren,
Yes I'm referring to products. When I created the products I put the [../] in the fields.
