Enabling parent variables would be really useful for assemblies.
E.G. Footing takeoff contains Width" and Depth" variables. Concrete item could use both variables to calculate volume. Transversal rebar item could use Width variable to calculate rebar quantities. Eliminating double entries of variables for assemblies.
Hi Sam, I saw your Feature Request and I wanted to say that those features are built into all of the takeoff properties already. Every takeoff property has a drop down to allow for depth, height, width etc... and the nice thing about this is that the volume, wall height etc. all carry down to the item level

Hi Todd, can those values be inserted in formulas as variables? Can i insert the linear takeoff width in my transversal rebar item formula? I'll have to play around with this to see how it works, Thanks!
Great question! and yes you can use those as variables in your item formulas as long as they match the name in the takeoff property, in this case the width would carry down to [Width]
