Is there a polar mode that allows only specified angles when measuring linear items? If not, could that be added? Most other programs utilize either shift or ctrl to activate this feature on press.
Hi David. This has been completed and will be released within a few days with our next release (along with a bunch of other updates).
Awesome. I'm excited to see those. I just read about zz on reddit last night as a good alternative to Planswift. So far i'm loving the speed and ease of use.
David,
The most recent release has solved your request. Refer to recent Inside Track Post.
Snap to existing points or hover points to draw ortho to them. Easier drawing shapes. Note: this snapping & ortho is for existing points you have drawn in your takeoff. Snapping to PDF points will come in a separate update.
You can Toggle on and off the Snap and Ortho by clicking the buttons at the bottom right of the Page.
In addition to this can we show the current angle before we drop a second point. At the bottom left it shows the coordinates....Perhaps it would be useful to show the current "polar coordinates" on a tool tip or something during takeoff?
That is a good Idea, just to confirm that you are looking at something like this:
R: 300.4 represents the distance (radius) from the origin point
θ: 45° represents the angle in degrees from the horizontal axis
[15° snap] is an indicator to show that ortho (Polar) is active
Looks good. It remains to be seen how well it works in the corner when using a large screen, but generally I prefer everything to be out of the way anyway. Thanks!
