Mitchell Byron Reverse Detail Lookup
One of the most annoying things is when you are going through the detail pages to look for anything you might have missed and when you find something you missed you now have to go back to the plans and find it. I'd like to see a feature that lets me click the actual detail number and it brings up a list of locations that I can click on and it takes me to that location anywhere in the drawings. Essentially the opposite of hyperlinking the details from the plan side.

Not quite I'm thinking you click on the detail (see attached photo below) and it would find everywhere in the drawings that detail occurs and when you click on one of the occurrences it hyperlinks you there. So the opposite of hyperlinking currently where it takes you from a plan view page to a detail. I'm thinking a detail to a plan view. Hopefully that makes sense.
You Could Try Search as Text
Yeah I've been asking for this for a while with other PDF navigation tools that have all failed. This needs to be a phase 3 of auto-hyperlinking now that we have AI on our side, muhahahah.
One example I always give is Intumescent paint. There was this stupid detail for intumescent paint for a tube steel column, and I missed a bunch of them that were clearly shown on the drawings. If I could have had a list of places where this detail was located on the blow up section, would have saved me time hunting for the stupid things on all the floor plans and saved us $100k
Technically yes you could. But this will bring all details with the same number but not necessarily the same page so you would have to go through all items even ones that are not relevant. The idea is a quick no hassle way to find a detail you’re looking at. It seems like most of the tools are there for this to be done but the implementation is not.
I imagine this will be coming when we zzTO releases an auto-count feature. Probably draw a selection box around the detail callout and have an option for search as image?
@Sam, The text search function doesn't always work. I have multiple projects in zz that are not "searchable". I've been told an update to the OCR is coming, but until then, I have to continue to manually search for these items.
@justin for now you can make them searchable in another software before uploading to zz. PDF xchange has a free for life version that works great
