Scope Of work

It would be great to be able to draft a scope or work within the reports area.

@Alli,

How does this go? Utilizing the "Notes" feature of zzTakeoff or another tool entirely? Is this drafting of scope apply to the whole project or to the multiple instances or activities of each main scope or area of work?

As in, a short narrative explaining that for example:

  • These are the resources (MLSEO) required I accounted for when performing QTO/Estimate
  • Overall quantity of widgets, crew size, hours/days/weeks, safety concerns, predecessors,
  • When performing this scope take into account "..."
  • I referenced drawing sheets S104, E00-02, and specifications 03, 31, & 28
  • On addenda 2 there was a significant change to this original scope of work that added resources (MLESO)
  • There was an informal RFI response via email or spreadsheet that clarified this scope as ...

I'm really curious if this is what you're asking and if so, how do you visualize within zzTakeoff (what tab? What tool?)

How would you see this reporting out? For example if I were guessing or taking experience from other software I've used over the years maybe a header of the particular scope/activity, then a narrative paragraph or bold item prompts that are always under every scope/activity? High level QTO's (not sure how this would work out?)? Listing of resources with qty's and possibly costs/hours/etc?

Hello Chaz, thank you for the swift response. I understand ZZ is moreover a takeoff solution, but it's just a few simple steps away from allowing us to create actual proposals. I've used a direct competitor software for a couple years now and ZZ's reports function very much so as the actual proposal. It's just missing the ability to input the scope of work as a header when sending it off to excel. I currently download the takeoff report and download it into AI to help draft my scope of work and copy and paste that into the "scope of work" area then download into excel. Alternatively, since ZZ is already incorporating AI you can eventually integrate a "copilot" style scope of work area that creates it directly in ZZ (a different sw company does that, that I've used). Either way, this would just help streamline the whole takeoff to proposal process without us users doing it within Excel separately. I hope this helps.
