Segment & Linear add visual count + spacing

When drawing a line if I could right click and choose to add a count to that line and adjust the spacing that would be very helpful. I think I can do that in formulas/measurements, but to have something visually seeable would be nice that I could then adjust that count to be a different product and application such as a 2x4 stud at certain spacing, a stair riser, a hardware, and change the quantity and material for that count.

This is most useful to add hardware such as screws, lags, A35s, etc. to a wall, rimboard, beams, etc. as well as to build assemblies.
