Selection of multiple takeoff items seems to be tougher than it should be. When I clock and drag over takeoffs, it should select everything within that drag area. However, most of the time the AI prompt pops up. I understand that I can use the shift key, but if i need to select a lot of items this gets very cumbersome.
Yes I agree it should be less tedious
Additionally I would like the platform to give us the ability to multiselect takeoffs on the left side pages panel by holding shift or control while clicking so that it will automatically select those for us on the page so that we don't have to drag another box to select all of them. Currently it only lets you select 1 set of takeoff objects when you use that method.
Hi Tim, thanks for the input. Just to clarify - if you click and drag a box completely around any takeoff items, it should select them (and shouldn't bring up the AI prompt)
In this example, dragging this box will select the living room area, the 2 windows on the top and bottom, the wood stove, and one interior wall on the right side of the screenshot. This is because the dragged box goes completely around all of these takeoffs. It will not select the blue exterior wall (for example) because the box does not completely surround it.

It sounds like you'd like the option of having it select everything that the dragged box touches, correct? (so for that same screenshot, it would also select the blue exterior wall, plus the light blue porch area at the bottom, plus the peach colored hall area, plus the purple laundry area, plus the 2 short exterior walls on the right of the screenshot.) Am I understanding your request correctly?
I know in some graphics programs like Corel Draw, you can hold down the Alt key while dragging a box, and it will select anything that touches the box. zzTakeoff doesn't currently have that functionality, but maybe that could be added. Do you think this would meet your needs? I can't commit to that being added - it will be up to the development team. But I just want to gather the relevant info before passing your request along to them.
