One thing I like about OST is that they have a "typical group" takeoff item. Basically you can you can group a bunch of takeoffs under a typical group, then pick off any of the typical groups that may apply to the job.
An example would be an apartment complex that contains multiples of the same unit layout. Typically there are blow-ups of these units contained within the drawing set. You would takeoff all of the items within the unit (flooring, ceiling, drywall, paint, doors, etc) on that blow-up sheet, group it in a typical group takeoff condition, then pick off the units on the overall floor plans.
Hi Tim! Thanks for the feedback. We are thinking to do something similar and call it a "Takeoff Stamp". I'm curious, do you ever need the ability to create a stamp and re-use it on another project, or is it typically just created and used within each project individually?
Typically only applicable on an individual project. Referring to my example for an apartment, a layout of a unit is not exactly the same on a similar, but different job.
Sounds good. Thanks for the input and details 🙂
