User Role question for possible consideration

For a user whose role is set to collaborator, what settings, and functionality do they have to modify an element for a takeoff item?

My thought is this: We have the ability to add a PM, Superintendent, etc. to a workspace or project so that they can add comments, markups, etc. What if:

• Real world problem: Tracking Progress & Actuals vs. Takeoffs & Budgets
• Solution: Maintain a single source of truth logic within a single platform!!
• Either copy a planset with the takeoff and data as either a new project or paste it into a new folder for field personnel to make necessary entries.
• Provide Role base ability so field personnel have specific functional ability to modify a takeoff's item, product, assembly, etc.?
• Provide custom properties that are role specific such as:

1. Field_Status
2. Installed, Delete from SOW, etc.
3. Install/Change Date

• Benefit: Multiple!
• support staff could literally track WIP, monitor production KPIs, etc.
• As-Builts could be created
• Historical data is created that provides:
• Estimators the ability to better align future projects with current capabilities
• Provides governance to Executive and leadership to grow a business and maximize profits!
• Expands ZZTakeoff platform marketability.

Could this be accomplished in a collaborator role, or would it require the addition of a new role?
