(Visual) Changeable outline color

Have the outline color of area be able to change into a different color

Bonus feature: Be able to copy an area, and paste just the perimeter as a new item.

I would like this, but the ability to remove the outline entirely.

Thanks for the input. Maybe we could have a setting for "Auto" which behaves as it does normally (darkening the edges a little), with the ability to set "None" or to another specific color.
