I have a question about spelling out the unit of measurement in reports versus having abbreviations. I am clear on how to do it when I have a product in an assembly,,,I manually change it to read "Linear Feet", etc. But, when we just have measurements with no product attached there is not an option. I do see in the column settings in reports that I can select the column header (Units 1)to read differently when exported, but is there a way to have the actual units read differently in reports or at least when exported?
I was advised to make this a feature request.
Thanks for your help,
Mike
Hey Mike, currently, the way abbreviated units display in the reports can't be changed. The only exception to this is if you have a takeoff in item mode (as you mentioned), where you use the product units and qty for measurement 1-3.
The main reason why you have to choose the abbreviated units & you can't type the units is that when you choose the units, you are choosing the convert to units - 'area:sf', "area:sy", etc. Perhaps we could have some sort of 'alt' units that display instead of the convert to units. I'll send this over to the dev team for further discussion. 🙂
Thanks Lorin. I appreciate you looking into this for us...though nothing in coding is "simple", it be be as simple as more options that read 'area:Square Feet', etc in addition to what we already have.
