Q & AAdding takeoffs directly into report
Is it possible to add items directly into the report from the report level?
For example, when pricing large repetitive housing sites, currently in PS I will have on my second screen the plans and for count items I will drag an assembly template into the folder at the estimating level and manually enter the count for each item. This method just saves me so much time even though it is a little unorthodox!

Hey Andrew, you can't drag/drop/re-order takeoffs in reports, but you can add and edit takeoffs. For the takeoff tree reports, we added a button for "New" or "New Child" takeoffs. You can also double-click to edit or right-click and choose properties.
is this only going to be available for default reports? i have an advanced report type that i cant seem to add takeoffs into. Also the takeoffs are just the stock types and not the templates that i have built.
This is only available for the Takeoff Tree reports, not the advanced takeoff/item reports. Currently, the advanced takeoff/item reports are driven by takeoff section data (you are grouping the takeoff sections or takeoff/item section slices), so any new takeoffs would not show up until you add a section.
We have not added support for templates yet, but that would be a good feature request!
