Adding takeoffs directly into report

Is it possible to add items directly into the report from the report level?

For example, when pricing large repetitive housing sites, currently in PS I will have on my second screen the plans and for count items I will drag an assembly template into the folder at the estimating level and manually enter the count for each item. This method just saves me so much time even though it is a little unorthodox!
