Deduct quantity from one part from another within an assembly?

Is it possible to deduct a quantity from one part of an assembly from another part within the same assembly? For instance, I've created a footing assembly with a concrete volume part and an excavation volume part and I'd like to add a backfill volume part deducting the concrete CY from the excavation CY.

Seems like this should be accomplished through an item with a formula to do this. If you post a screen shot I would be willing to help you write the formula.

That did it! I was missing the "./" and the Alt name helps quite a bit too. I figured it was something simple that I was overlooking.
