Excel Template Intergration through lists

Good Morning, We are new users to this program. I am just debating adding 300+ Items to the List column but know that there will be an update shortly that I believe will fast track adding to the lists by importing from excel?

Ideally what we would do is create list on an excel template that can be sent out to suppliers and than importing semi annually to keep pricing up to date. Does this thought process make sense? Do we know when this feature gets added?
