Home Page / Dashboard When Opening Software

I'd like to suggest creating a home page, or dashboard view. when opening the software. For example, create a landing page that has a view that shows a list of all projects and some other fields, such as location, office/division, estimator, status of the project. That way it won't open directly into a project that you may not be working on. Thoughts?
