Integrated Sales Tax System (PlanSwift-Level or Better)

Hi Heber Allred and the team,

I wanted to follow up on a previous request regarding sales tax handling within zzTakeoff, which I haven’t been able to locate in the Q&A.

Sales Tax System or (e.g. GST 10%) is a high-impact feature for estimators, and I believe implementing it properly would significantly improve both accuracy and usability of final bid outputs.

While we can create formulas like:

• [Qty] * [Price Each] * ([Sales Tax 1] / 100)
• [Job\Sales Tax 1] * [Taxable]

This approach is:

• manual (custom formulas)
• fragmented
• hard to maintain
• not scalable across projects
• increase errors

From - PlanSwift (Copy and Paste)

Toggle:

• Show prices incl. tax / excl. tax

Ability to:

• override tax per item
• Tax summary section in reports
• Export-ready formatting for client submissions

For zzTakeoff:

• Brings it in line with (or ahead of) competitors
• Makes it more viable as a primary estimating platform and reporting

This is not just a “nice to have”, it’s a core estimating function.

If implemented cleanly, it would significantly improve workflow and reporting, and I believe many users would benefit from it.

Would really appreciate if this could be prioritised.
