Is there a way to bulk edit a custom property with a takeoff in flight?

Lets say I have 1,000 line takeoff and the owner wants a breakout that was not previously anticipated.

Do I have to go line by line and change 1,000 items, or is there a way to quickly change this?

I'm imagining the old Timberline / Sage method where you could drag and drop items with different work breakdown structures or right click and reassign all items selected to a certain WBS.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi Aaron, Yes, you can do this in the Takeoffs tab with Work Breakdown Structures. (we are working on adding the ability to change this in reports too)

Here's how to do it with Work Breakdown Structures in the Takeoffs tab:

1. Make sure you have your Work Breakdown Structure enabled in settings (I assume you've already done this - if not, click on your user icon in the top right, choose settings, choose "Custom Properties" on the left, click "+New Property") For this example below, I'll use the "Division" Work Breakdown Structure.

2. In the Takeoffs tab, click the little folders to choose the view and select the WBS that you want to group by (Division in my example)

Note: you can see that I can also group by other custom properties that I've created. But I'll just do Division here.

3. You can then select all of the takeoffs that you want to move into a division (use Shift+Click and/or Ctrl+Click to multi-select them)

4. Then drag and drop them into the WBS you'd like (I'll drag these gray selected ones into "02 - Division") That will take them from having no division assigned to having "02 - Division" assigned

I hope this helps!
