I am curious if anyone has had luck getting a predictable function for finding the total length of something along wall that has varying heights.
Here is the scenario, trying to find the total length of vertical control joints along this wall. The spacing of the joints is @ 20' but the wall heights vary as the wall goes along.
I could created and point with a height for each on, but this seems tedious.
What I would like is to be able to take the total length / Divide it by the spacing of joints x the wall height at that location. So far I can't come up with a workable solution.
Any ideas?

I will say, this set of drawings did give me an elevation view of the wall that I was able to trace and then use the grid tool with only a vertical spacing, that worked fantastic! ....but an elevation view of walls is rarely given. I suppose I could commit to drawing my own elevation view, but again, seems tedious.
