Paning using S,D,F,E,C - Customizing hot keys

How did this not transfer over from PS? Does anyone else think this is important? It makes doing take offs so much easier, with out all the clicking & dragging of the right button to pan. Also we have remapped the keys for functions such as "new segment" to what would make more sense for each individual user. We are still currently using PS but hesitate to move without this feature.

Are there any keys to pan around the page? Will the arrows work on the report side to move through cells?

Hi, currently this would be difficult to have mapped to the arrow keys.

When you have a drawing tool active (like Area, Linear, Segment, or Count), the arrow keys are used for precise drawing:

  • ↑ (Up Arrow) or 8 (Numpad): Draw up
  • ↓ (Down Arrow) or 2 (Numpad): Draw down
  • ← (Left Arrow) or 4 (Numpad): Draw left
  • → (Right Arrow) or 6 (Numpad): Draw right
  • 7 (Numpad) / Home: Draw up-left
  • 9 (Numpad) / Page Up: Draw up-right
  • 1 (Numpad) / End: Draw down-left
  • 3 (Numpad) / Page Down: Draw down-right

These arrow key commands execute drawing operations, not viewport panning. If a drawing tool is not active, the arrow keys won't do anything for the viewport.

For viewport panning without using drawing tools, stick with:

  • Mouse scroll wheel (up/down or left/right)
  • Shift + scroll (horizontal panning)
  • Right-click or middle-click drag

Yes, arrow keys allow navigating a selected list (Takeoffs, Templates, Lists sidebar, Reports tab, etc)

Panning with the mouse wheel and holding shift and control or the right mouse button pan works well for me.

tho I’m a prior OST user and don’t know what I was missing in planswift.

I agree. I miss moving the drawings around (panning) using the ESDF keys.
