Quantities Summary

Hello to anyone reading this post. I just did a takeoff, and I also imported plan swift template into my workspace but now i am struggling to get quantities. Like I have all the measurements in count, linear and area I just want to get reinforcement quantities at the end. Can someone guide me? I am on trial period so I really wanting to switch from Plan Swift.

Hi Aaditya

At this stage, the import from PlanSwift isn’t fully finalised. The system will import your parent items (Area, Linear, Segment, and Point Count) along with all their child items, but it will not import any of your formulas.

If you know how to build your formulas in PlanSwift, you’ll be able to recreate them the same way in ZZTakeoff. Just keep in mind that if you’re using “IF” formulas, they must be written in lowercase.

If you run into any issues, the ZZ gurus can explain it far better than I can — it just looks like I spotted your message before they did.

Hope this helps!

I do have formulas but the way I need to set, I just need guidance on it.

Not sure which part of the world you’re living in, I’m in Australia and it’s 8:30 PM here in WA. You’ll need to provide a bit more detail about what you actually need. Is it a slab with reinforcing bars, mesh, a footing, or a bored pier, or a wall? Without that information, it’s hard for anyone to assist.

I’m happy to help, but it will have to be tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, put everything you need in your message, and hopefully someone will jump in before I do.

Cheers!

Hi Aaditya,

We also have some Training Videos that may answer your questions on importing. That link will take you to pre-filtered search for "import" in the Training Videos section of the community.

@Steve thanks for your responses as well. @Aaditya as Steve mentions, the PS import works for basic items & assemblies, but more advanced will need modifications after import.

thank you all. I do have additional question to ask which is "How do I know if the value to be written is in inches or feet? I have set to measure imperial units."

Aaditya,

When you start the \takeoff you choose the unit you want your output to appear in

You will see in your Takeoff and Reports what you have chosen
