Template Protection

I have created template for my rebar quantity takeoff and now I will invite my colleagues to work using the same template. How to protect the template file ?

Permissions for this type of thing have been requested. For now, I duplicate all my templates so that I have backups just in case someone changes something I don't want changed. I also reiterate many times, do not change items that have a gear on them. Copy template items to your takeoff and then modify.

I hope it comes soon! I really don't like to be cautious every day for these basic things
