We’re a general contractor based in the UK, specialising in high-end residential projects. Lately, though, we’ve been taking on more commercial tenders. Because of that, I’m looking to move away from Price A Job (which feels quite domestic-focused) and switch to zzTakeoff paired with an estimating software.
I’m comfortable working in Excel, but I feel like I’m overcomplicating things when it comes to managing my buildups and creating SoRs.
Is anyone here in the UK using Excel alongside zzTakeoff, or can anyone recommend a good software to pair with it instead?
Sam, Glad you’re asking a question like this… from the US here.
My 2 cents for a couple ideas..
Option 1: zzTakeoff + Excel. You’re already comfortable with it, so start there.
Option 2: zzTakeoff + Ediphi. These two are easily the most intuitive combo in the industry, but I’m bias 🤓.
Option 3: zzTakeoff solo. You can build estimates right in it… I have not done it tho.
