Was wondering if/when you would be allowing to direct query from Excel into the system? Also in terms of architecture on what comes out would the user be able to easily select certain fields or would we need to get you to set it up for us?
Please provide as much detail as possible to describe the ideal workflow you would like between zzTakeoff and Excel. We are planning to an integration soon.
Are you looking to pull data from zzTakeoff into excel?
Pull data from excel into zzTakeoff?
Create a live link between cells in excel and properties in zzTakeoff?
Export from zzTakeoff to a specific excel template?
Import your excel template workflow into zzTakeoff
If you were to right click in excel and there was a zzTakeoff option in the menu to create a live link to a property, like takeoff quantity in zzTakeoff would that help or are you looking to pull data from zzTakeoffs reports into excel?
I am trying to work out how best to populate a number of "measurement"results from Revit into zz.
I assume the easiest path would be to export to a spreadsheet and link or import the results from the Revit to zz.
I don't pretend to know what is the best way to do it, but of course we would want it to be simple and robust.
Similarly, I would like to have a similar arrangment for use with "Standard" plans.
There may be a better solution than this suggestion, but this is what is see as a viable solution.
In zz we select we have a property called "Plan Name". We pick the name from a drop down list and then zz goes out to an external list and brings in all the default "measurement/quantities" for the selected plan.
We then proceed to "take-off" ammendments to these properties as required for customisations to the standard plan.
Depending on the power and function of the assemblies, it might also be good for zz to be able to bring in prices from an external list based on the location of the job being taken off.
There are other applications for external lists as well, like returning other properties based on a property selected.
