Currently in zzTakeoff, when you're building a formula you see measurements in the formula like this:
[Area]
[Linear]
[Volume]
etc.
What do you guys think if when you insert into the formula, it inserts specific units?
[Volume:CY]
[Area:SF]
[Linear:FT]
[Linear:IN]
etc.
Then you can insert the exact value in cubic yards, cubic feet, etc. It seems that this would be more clear, but looks a little more cryptic as well. Overall the clarity may be worth it. Just wondering what you guys think.
I like this.
It would also be nice to have a catch or warning when changing a unit type when a formula is already present. Just in case someone changed the type, but the formula was predetermine using that type.
For example, if a formula was using LF to calculate a productions. Like a saw cutter can do 1600 LF with 1 saw blade
The calculation would be [Linear:LF] / 1600 LF, but if someone changed it to [Linear:IN], then the calculation would be off.
Also, this can branch out to calling other subitems, IE: [Subitem01:Linear:FT] or [Subitem02:Formula]
Love it and always standard practice when making variables in other tools. I like that its baked in at the root so its harder to mess up.
