We're working on an idea for collaboration within zzTakeoff where you could potentially isolate takeoff & annotation data (and eventually real-time chat) within a project into multiple "spaces". The primary purpose of these spaces would be for collaboration. So each project would have a default "Main" space. You could add additional spaces to collaborate between you and other groups of users. Each space would have an isolated view. So, in the example below, a General Contractor could setup a project, and create a space within that project for drywall, electrical, home owner, etc. Then any users invited to that space could collaborate without seeing the takeoff & annotation data from the other spaces. I could see people even creating another "space" within a project just to have a clean slate to do "what if" scenarios using the same set of plans, without having to create a whole new project.
This would be wonderfull! After reading this thread one thing I was wondering was in this "space" can we also control what drawings are shown? For example if I want to invite my landscaper, they would love me if when they got in they only saw the relevant information they needed, heck we could even give them the baseline takeoff so they don't jack that up and shoot themselves in the foot, someday we will make it easy for our trade partners!
Good idea Kyle. We'll discuss and see if we can control page visibility for those you share with along with the takeoff data 🙂 We have lots of discussions happening about this internally right now.
With takeoffs on overlays instead of pages, only the referenced pages would be shared for a particular overlay (since the overlay acts as a folder for referenced pages as well).
