The Volume measurement called on as a CF, not based on the Unit type.
So, if I set this
But if I call the [Volume] in a formula, it is called as a CF, not as CY. See "Labor | Demo Slab" quantity above.
I would need to change my formula to convert the CF to CY (Not hard, but was un expected)
It would be nice if there was an option to pull the displayed unit type, or picked the unit type, or have it automatically converted.
Hey Casey, we've been discussing this internally, and we're considering adding the units right in the item formula - "[Volume:CY]" instead of "[Volume]/27". We made a post regarding feedback on this: https://www.zztakeoff.com/app/community/inside-track/collecting-input-measurement-units-for-item-formula-calculation
As a side note, the measurements on the takeoff are currently just for display on reports & in the takeoff sidebar. They do not impact item formula calculations (intentionally to not interfere with qty calculations).
Thanks for your feedback on that other post! Our latest release now allows you to specify the units right in the formula & when choosing which measurement to insert.
