Archiving or Deleting Projects

In zzTakeoff, managing your projects efficiently is key to keeping your workspace organized. You can either archive projects you no longer actively work on or delete projects you no longer need. Here’s how each option works and when to use it:

Archiving Projects

Archiving is a way to clean up your workspace without permanently removing your project. Archived projects are stored safely and can be restored later if needed.

Benefits of Archiving:

• Keeps your workspace organized by hiding inactive projects.
• Allows you to retain project history, takeoffs, and associated files.
• Restoring an archived project is simple and quick.

How to Archive a Project:

1. Open the project you want to archive.
2. Click on the Project Settings menu.
3. Select Archive Project.
4. Confirm your choice. The project will move to the Archived Projects section.

Accessing Archived Projects:

• Navigate to your workspace menu and select Archived Projects.
• You can restore a project at any time by selecting Restore Project.

Deleting Projects

Deleting a project permanently removes it and cannot be undone. Only use this option for projects you are certain you no longer need.

Important Considerations Before Deleting:

• All takeoffs, documents, and associated data will be permanently lost.
• Deleting a project cannot be reversed.

How to Delete a Project:

1. Open the project you want to delete.
2. Click on the Project Settings menu.
3. Select Delete Project.
4. Confirm your choice by typing the project name or selecting Confirm (depending on your interface).

Best Practices

• Archive first, delete later: If you’re unsure whether you may need a project in the future, archiving is safer than deleting.
• Regular maintenance: Periodically review your projects and archive or delete old ones to keep your workspace tidy.
