Deleting Takeoffs

Overview

Deleting takeoffs in zzTakeoff allows you to remove measurements or quantities that are no longer needed in your project. This helps keep your takeoff organized, accurate, and free of duplicate or incorrect data.

You can delete individual takeoffs, multiple takeoffs at once, or remove them directly from the page or the takeoff list.

When to Delete a Takeoff

You may want to delete a takeoff when:

• A measurement was created by mistake
• A duplicate takeoff exists
• A revision requires removing old quantities
• A takeoff type or material is no longer needed
• You want to clean up your project before exporting or reporting

Deleting a Single Takeoff

Method 1: Delete from the Plan Page

1. Open your project
2. Navigate to the plan page containing the takeoff
3. Click on the takeoff you want to remove
4. Press Delete on your keyboard
5. or
6. Right-click the takeoff
7. Select Delete

The takeoff will be removed immediately from the page and the takeoff list.

Method 2: Delete from the Takeoff List

1. Open the takeoff panel
2. Locate the takeoff in the list
3. Click to select it
4. Click the Delete icon or press Delete on your keyboard
5. Confirm the deletion if prompted

The takeoff will be removed from the project.

Deleting Multiple Takeoffs

1. Open the takeoff list
2. Hold Ctrl (Windows) or Cmd (Mac)
3. Select multiple takeoffs
4. Press Delete
5. Confirm the deletion

All selected takeoffs will be removed at once.

Deleting All Takeoffs on a Page

1. Open the plan page
2. Open the takeoff list
3. Filter by page (if available)
4. Select all takeoffs
5. Press Delete
6. Confirm

This removes all takeoffs from the selected page.

Undoing a Deleted Takeoff

If you accidentally delete a takeoff:

• Press Ctrl + Z (Windows) or Cmd + Z (Mac)
• Or use the Undo button

This will restore the most recently deleted takeoff.

Note: Undo only works immediately after deletion.
