Editing a Takeoff

Overview

Editing a takeoff in zzTakeoff allows you to update measurements, adjust quantities, modify properties, or correct mistakes after a takeoff has been created. This ensures your project data stays accurate and aligned with the latest plans or project requirements.

You can edit any takeoff directly from the plan sheet or from the takeoff properties panel.

When to Edit a Takeoff

You may need to edit a takeoff when:

  • A measurement was placed incorrectly
  • Plan revisions change dimensions
  • Material or item properties need updating
  • Quantity or count needs adjustment
  • The wrong takeoff type was used
  • A takeoff needs to be moved or resized

Step 1: Select the Takeoff

  1. Open your project.
  2. Navigate to the plan sheet.
  3. Click on the takeoff you want to edit.
  4. The takeoff will highlight and display its properties.

Step 2: Modify the Takeoff

Depending on the takeoff type, you can:

  • Click and drag the takeoff to reposition it.

Adjust Measurement Points

  • Click on endpoints or corners.
  • Drag them to the correct location.
