Overview of the zzTakeoff Interface

The zzTakeoff interface is designed to be simple, organized, and easy to navigate so you can focus on reviewing plans, performing takeoffs, and collaborating with your team. This article provides a high-level overview of the main areas of the zzTakeoff workspace and how they work together.


Main Interface Layout


When you open zzTakeoff, the workspace is divided into several key areas:

  • Top Navigation Bar
  • Left Sidebar (Project & Page Navigation)
  • Plan Viewing Area
  • Takeoff Tools Panel
  • Reports & Data Area
  • AI and Utility Tools

Each section plays an important role in helping you manage projects and complete takeoffs efficiently.


Top Navigation Bar


The top navigation bar provides quick access to important workspace controls and settings.

Key functions include:

  • Switching between projects
  • Accessing workspace settings
  • User account options
  • Notifications
  • Help and support resources

This area helps you move between projects and manage your account without interrupting your workflow.


Left Sidebar (Project & Plan Navigation)


The left sidebar is where you organize and access your project files.

What you can do here:

  • View project folders
  • Access plan sheets
  • Organize blueprints into categories
  • Navigate between different drawing pages
  • Manage project structure

This section acts as your project file manager and keeps everything organized in one place.


Plan Viewing Area


The plan viewing area is the main workspace where you interact with drawings and blueprints.

In this area you can:

  • View plan sheets
  • Zoom in and out of drawings
  • Pan across plans
  • Select areas for takeoff
  • Review scaled drawings
  • Work with extracted or cropped pages

This is where most of your takeoff and plan review work happens.
