Overview

zzTakeoff allows you to print blueprint pages with or without takeoff information, making it easy to create clean plan sets for review or annotated plans for field, estimating, and project documentation purposes. You can also print reports directly from zzTakeoff to share quantities, counts, areas, lengths, and other takeoff data.

Blueprint pages can be printed either with all takeoff information visible or as clean plans without any takeoff data.

  1. Open the project.
  2. Navigate to the blueprint page you want to print.
  3. Click the Print button in the toolbar.
  4. Select your preferred printer or PDF printer.
  5. Configure the desired print settings.
  6. Click Print.

Print Blueprint Pages with Takeoffs

Printing with takeoffs displays all visible takeoff items, measurements, annotations, symbols, labels, and markup currently shown on the page.

This option is useful for:

  • Estimator reviews
  • Internal project documentation
  • Quality control checks
  • Field verification
  • Sharing takeoff information with team members

Tips

  • Only visible takeoff items will appear on the printed page.
  • Use layer visibility controls to hide or show specific takeoff information before printing.
  • Zoom level does not affect the printed scale of the blueprint.

Print Blueprint Pages without Takeoffs

If you need a clean copy of the blueprint, you can print the page without any takeoff information.

This option is useful for:

  • Customer presentations
  • Clean plan distribution
  • Project meetings
  • Design reviews
  • Creating blank markup copies

To Print Without Takeoffs

  1. Open the blueprint page.
  2. Disable or hide takeoff visibility using the page display options.
  3. Verify the page appears clean in the preview.
  4. Select Print.
  5. Complete the print process.

The resulting printout will contain only the original blueprint image without takeoff annotations.

  • Correct report type is selected
  • Required columns are visible
  • Filters are applied correctly
  • Page orientation is appropriate
  • Information fits within page boundaries

Save Reports as PDF

Many users choose to print reports to PDF for electronic distribution and record keeping.

Benefits include:

  • Easy sharing with customers and team members
  • Digital project documentation
  • Archiving estimate information
  • Eliminating paper copies

Simply select a PDF printer from your available printers during the print process.

Best Practices

  • Verify report filters before printing.
  • Remove unnecessary columns to improve readability.
  • Use landscape orientation for wide reports.
  • Print annotated plans when reviewing takeoffs internally.
  • Print clean plans when sharing drawings externally.
  • Save important reports as PDFs for future reference.
