Rotating Plan Sheets

Rotating plan sheets in zzTakeoff allows you to adjust the orientation of your plans for easier viewing, accurate measurements, and better organization. This can be especially helpful when dealing with scanned plans or PDFs that are not aligned correctly.

When to Rotate Plan Sheets

• A plan sheet appears sideways or upside down.
• You need to align multiple sheets to the same orientation.
• You want to ensure dimensions and annotations are easier to read.

How to Rotate a Plan Sheet

• Open the ProjectNavigate to the project containing the plan sheet you want to rotate.
• Open the sheet in the Plan Viewer.
• Access the Rotate ToolLook for the Rotate icon or option in the toolbar.
• Some versions may allow right-clicking on the sheet to access rotation options.
• Choose the Rotation DirectionClockwise (90°) – rotates the sheet 90 degrees to the right.
• Counterclockwise (90°) – rotates the sheet 90 degrees to the left.
• 180° – flips the sheet upside down.
• Apply the RotationOnce you select the desired rotation, the plan sheet will adjust immediately.
• Verify that all annotations, measurements, and overlays still align correctly.
• Save Changes (Optional)If you want the rotation to be permanent, save the changes to the project.
• Rotating the sheet temporarily will not alter the original uploaded file.

Tips for Rotating Plan Sheets

• Multiple Sheets: You can rotate one sheet at a time. Check if batch rotation is available in your version of zzTakeoff for efficiency.
• Undo Rotation: If the orientation isn’t correct, use the Undo option or rotate in the opposite direction.
• Check Measurements: After rotation, verify that your takeoff measurements remain accurate, especially if using scaled plans.
