Bryan Kellenberger Chat Feature for Project Users
Thinking about team collaboration at the project level. What are the thoughts about having a chat feature within each project so while multiple users are performing takeoffs, they would also have the ability to message chat each other as well? Building this at the project level, all the conversations would stay connected to that particular project for future reference.
Hi Bryan! We've had some discussion internally about adding a chat feature. Any input is welcome from the community to make it as useful as possible. 🙂
It would be fun to be able to send "bookmarks" to the user's current location into the chat (similar to sending a location pin in text message), links to takeoffs, sections, etc.
I wonder if the chats would be visible by all users in the project, or just direct messages? Maybe we allow both. We could maybe even allow discussion channels, too.
I see the advantages of both, all users and direct messages, with the ability to add each user separately to a discussion (I use Microsoft Teams all day every day, so that is my reference 😊 ) but would be awesome to have the discussions connected to specific jobs
I would say use both. We currently are doing this as a team through Google Chat. It would be nice to have it linked to the projects.
